Week One Summary:


Tutorial Two


Today we jumped straight into the coding which was quite interesting and fun. Ben started off the tutorial by talking about how objects are not just one object but it is a form which is made up from many materials and forms. He specifically used a book and talked about how it isn't just a book but made up from many aspects of materials and forms. We then slowly moved on to talking about parameters as Ben asked us to draw shapes on our grid paper. After drawing numerous shapes we were instructed to choose one shape in particular, and then we discussed how we could split this shape from being one from to lines and then points of contact. We talked about co-ordinates and Ben showed us how we could then transfer these attributes to our own shapes and we wrote down all the points on our shape, as I chose quite a complex shape I ended up with 30 points. We then finaly transferred our commands on paper into Processing to create our shape on the computer. 

 I chose the shape two up from the bottom on the left with the coding I created on paper on the right, from this I created this on the computer through the processing software.

I was happy with my shape and it was a good tutorial as I have never used these softwares before and it was interesting and a good learning curve, I look forward to the next tutorial.
