Week One Summary:

Tutorial One

First DSDN104 tutorial today, was introduced to instructor Sunny and tutor Olivia. Completed my first task for the course choosing three words to give me inspiration towards my future design. By the end of the week I'll need to have completed a sketch on my verb and also complete some Solid Works tutorials.


My first idea that I conceived was based around the consumption of alcohol (for some absurd reason - maybe because I enjoy consuming the liquid poison) I could see in my head one object being devoured by another just as we are as humans consuming the alcohol which effectively creates a illusion in the world that we perceive which bought about my adjective which i thought of being the word active as when the alcohol hits your body everything seems like your experiencing light speed!

My Three words I have chosen at this time are:

- Verb: Devour

- To consume destructively, recklessly, or wantonly

- Noun: Illusion

-Something that deceives by producing a false or misleading impression of reality.

- Adjective: Active

- Having the power of quick motion; nimble

I also found some images which I thought fit the description of my three words which also provide inspiration towards what I want to achieve through my words to provide a effective model.


Devour:
- This was a tough word to find an image for, i found this image and thought it gave a sense of devour through the essence of the waterfall being fallen and consumed into one area of the screen.

 Active
- Looking at this image i get the feeling of objects moving fast, effectively moving actively

 Illusion
- This image creates an illusion in our minds as alcohol does when we consume it.

Weekly Sketch Exercise

For the sketching exercise we were instructed to to draw our adjective, mine being devour first thing that came to my mind was one point devour everything in its path and as we can see in my image I have the darkened paths on each side and everything inside it is being devoured into the one point at the top being the dot which is devouring everything in its path just like when e consuming alcohol we devour every milliliter even to the last drops until we are left in another world. 


Sunny emphasized the meaning of digital creation in the introduction and I can't wait to get creating!
